I met Barbara Gederian Muckel, Director of Xcel 2 Fitness, at the Beast Bootcamp race, a local obstacle 5k, a few weeks ago after writing about her amazing program for Hometown Happenings. A program that helps to develop confidence, team mentality and grit in grade school age boys. After an instant connection I was so excited to hear there was a way I could support X2F by doing what I love! X2F has a Dream Maker opportunity where you can support the program and raise money by posting about your training for an upcoming race, and I just so happen to be training for one (well, now 2)!
Signing up to be a Dream Maker while I train for the Spartan Sprint AND the Wonder Woman Half in June allows me to help a great program in the process (and keep me accountable :)). This is a program I know my son would have loved, and brings teamwork, confidence and encouragement to our kids when they need it most!!
Follow me on my journey to the Spartan and 13.1 in support of Xcel 2 Fitness!! If your school has X2F, look into it, if your school doesn’t know about X2F, please inquire, and if you just want to support a fantastic program, please donate!! Thank you from the X2F team and ME!!

Today proved once again that faith and love always win. Even in darkness there is always light, if you just look within 🧡 I am incredibly grateful for the people in my life, those I have known for years and those who I’ve only just met.
I met a wonderful man this weekend who braved the nasty weather to run, not because he loves to run (although I’m sure he does) but because of the friendships he makes along the way. “Sometimes peoples’ stories are ones you can’t even imagine. Don’t ever pass up opportunities to hear them”. David Ralston, 74, superhuman and amazing person.
I am forever thankful to all those stories and wonderful hearts I have gotten to know along the way and look forward to those I have not heard or met yet. 🦋🧡
Open your mind to those around you and you will learn more than you ever thought possible🧡
Life is full of choices, fun ones, scary ones, big and small. Every time you turn around you have a choice to make and whether it’s as simple as what flavor ice cream you eat or whether to change careers, they are still choices for you alone to make.
So ask yourself, when you are faced with the choice to move forward in your life, to step into your true path, or stay exactly where you are, what choice will you make? Will you allow fear to choose due to possible failure or will you embrace the possibilities? Will you open the door to opportunity or will you walk past because you are comfortable?
One of many of my favorite quotes is “if your dream doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough”. New is scary, uncomfortable is scary, change is scary but overcoming the scary can open you up to the incredible. 🧡
We have the choice to grow from our experiences, challenges and victories, and the ability to accomplish amazing things in this life if we choose to, but it’s up to us to choose. What will you choose?
I hope you have a fabulous day and I hope you choose incredible 🧡🦋
There is no question that life can throw some serious unexpected curve balls, sometimes at your face, that make you truly think about everything that deeply matters to you. Its times like these that have the potential to shatter your plan and make you take a good hard look at your life in a way you never imagined you would have to.
You know the moments, the ones that scare you, humble you and have you bracing for the next pitch. They take your breath away and have your mind racing at a speed that makes your head spin.
Ironically, its in these moments when we feel it’s time to profess our feelings, plan that trip, chase our dream or take that leap of faith we’ve been mulling over for longer than we can remember.
I’ve sat in those moments, one just recently, and I’ve had those thoughts and contemplated my life and all that it has been and all that it could be. My biggest take away from it, was why do we wait until these moments to choose to be the person we long to be?
We can overthink, overanalyze, over dramatize and pretend like we have forever and a day to do or say what’s in our heart, but the truth is, we have these moments, right now, Why wait?
Don’t wait to tell those you love what they mean to you, don’t wait to take that trip with your kids, or follow that dream you’ve carried with you since the first grade. Don’t wait to hit the road for your next adventure, or write that book or screenplay, or go back to school, open a business or learn to sail.
Don’t wait, do it now. We are not promised tomorrow and there is no room for regret. Say I love you, plan the vacation, step out of your bubble, and make that dream a reality. Now.
You have the choice to live this life while you live this life. Don’t wait for the curve ball, live it now and laugh til your stomach hurts, dance til the music stops, sing so the world can hear you and live every second you have – because you can.
Don’t wait to love the beautiful, exciting, incredible life you are meant to live. Live now, live every moment you have, and live it with love in your heart, grace in your step and fire in your soul.
And of course, Have an awesome day!
Many times in life we get so wrapped up in a situation, a project or relationship we forget why we began. Sometimes we are so blinded by making whatever we are doing work we lose sight of who we truly are or what we are truly trying to accomplish.
This can be in our work or personal life and sometimes taking a step back is exactly what we need to be successful. We are driven by timelines, smooth roads and wins and can easily become overwhelmed if there is a hiccup along the way. This can lead to overthinking and hyper analyzing and before you know it you are stuck in a mindset that won’t allow you to move forward.
Take a step back so you can breath, look at things from a different perspective, or just for a moment stop the madness in your head to find your heart. Then, when you’re ready you can step back in with fresh eyes and renewed sense of self.
Take a moment for you and for whatever or whoever may be involved. That time may allow you to see things differently and give you the strength to move forward in a way that is good for everyone.
Have a beautiful day!
One simple gesture, one helpful intention or kind word and one person’s day may be altered for the better. That one person may pass on those same good deeds to another and the cycle continues. In one day you may impact one, ten or a hundred. 🧡
This impact is just as great if you choose to not say a word out of anger, jealousy or hate. Not reacting can have the same affect as reacting. “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it”.
Choose kindness, love and respect to begin your week. Open your heart and walk with grace. Your actions or inactions may alter someones outlook for the better and in turn they may pass it on. Start the cycle of kindness, pass it on and see the change in yourself for the better🦋🧡
