Xcel2Fitness – Training with a Purpose

I met Barbara Gederian Muckel, Director of Xcel 2 Fitness, at the Beast Bootcamp race, a local obstacle 5k, a few weeks ago after writing about her amazing program for Hometown Happenings. A program that helps to develop confidence, team mentality and grit in grade school age boys. After an instant connection I was so excited to hear there was a way I could support X2F by doing what I love! X2F has a Dream Maker opportunity where you can support the program and raise money by posting about your training for an upcoming race, and I just so happen to be training for one (well, now 2)!

Signing up to be a Dream Maker while I train for the Spartan Sprint AND the Wonder Woman Half in June allows me to help a great program in the process (and keep me accountable :)). This is a program I know my son would have loved, and brings teamwork, confidence and encouragement to our kids when they need it most!!

Follow me on my journey to the Spartan and 13.1 in support of Xcel 2 Fitness!! If your school has X2F, look into it, if your school doesn’t know about X2F, please inquire, and if you just want to support a fantastic program, please donate!! Thank you from the X2F team and ME!!

Admit When You Are Wrong

Forgiveness, a piece of the journey in the puzzle of life that can be difficult from all angels, but so vital for well being.

While forgiving others and yourself are two very important aspects of forgiveness there is one step beforehand that can potentially throw you for a loop.

Admitting you may have hurt someone you care about in the first place.

I think if you ask my parents what the most stubborn feature of my personality was growing up, admitting that I was wrong is up there high on the list, if not number one. However it had also been one of my biggest lessons in this life, learning to take a good look at my own actions, owning them and then apologizing for them.

Asking for forgiveness is critical, but we must admit we misspoke, misstepped or hurt someone in the first place to do so, intentional or not. And, while it’s a difficult concept to swallow, it’s incredible growth when you realize the bridges it can mend and the peace it can bring into your life and to those around you.

Forgiveness is freeing, but remember to take a good look at yourself and understand that in order to take that jump we must first step into responsibility of our own actions.

Be honest with yourself and others and you will find peace in your heart 🧡 Have an amazing day!

Walk Gentle, Love Deeply & Appreciate Every Moment

Define Your Happy and Walk Toward It

Every persons’ definition of happy may hold a different meaning. I feel it’s important that you recognize what that meaning is for you and once you have defined it, understand that it is up to you to walk toward it.

It’s so very easy to blame those around us or circumstances we find ourselves in for our happiness. What we do not always realize is that we have control of nothing but our inner voice and a choice. A choice to make our lives more amazing than we thought possible.

Your happiness depends on you, and while it may not always be clear or it may seem like a dark path to walk, when we realize the light comes from within, the search for it elsewhere is no longer required.

Your happiness resides with you 🧡 have an amazing day 🦋🧡
