Self Care Includes Sleep

It’s scientifically proven that your mental health affects your physical health, and vice versa, in many ways. It’s easy to overlook and the majority of the time we don’t even realize until we show up to work in our slippers, or insomnia takes over our nights.

Taking care of yourself in all ways mental and physical is so important for your health and your sanity. And while mental breaks, breathing deep, and caring for your mind is key, sometimes we forget that sleep is the body’s natural healing mechanism. Every now and then we need to check in with ourselves to make sure we are allowing ourselves enough.

I know it can sometimes be impossible to adjust your sleep habits and it’s a vicious cycle consisting of your daily practice, what you eat, and what your schedule allows. However try to be aware of how each of these are affecting your sleep and consider that lack of solid rest may be the root of how you are feeling inside and out.

Take care of yourself because you are worth it and living as the best version of you means feeling like it.

Unplug

Take a day to check in with yourself, to calm the mind, reflect on the heart and center your intentions. Some times we are overwhelmed and don’t even realize it, and it can take a toll on us mentally, emotional and physically. 🧡

Self-care is not a selfish request from yourself, but a necessary one. Rejuvenate all that makes you tick by unplugging from all that fills your thoughts, even for a moment. Remind yourself to breathe, fill your lungs, and then take on the the week with fresh eyes and an open heart.

Unplug and re-center for you, so you can accomplish all you dream as the best version of you 🦋🧡

To be self-aware takes incredible courage and deep, sometimes uncomfortable honesty because you must look inward and acknowledge your true intentions as if you are gazing at the reflection of your soul. 🧡
